Description
Bad news: you died. Worse news: you went to Hell. Good news: Satan really isn't that bad! He's given you and a few other lucky individuals the opportunity to escape death by winning his hit game show: Deal With The Devil! Draw cards from the Sin Deck and score sets of sin to gain bonuses or torment others. Will you be the most sinful contestant and escape from Hell?

Deal With the Devil is a competitive analog card game where players must build sets of “Sin Cards” in order to score points and trigger effects that disadvantage the other players. This game was made as part of my IGME-621: Board and Card Game Design class, collaboratively, in a group of 4.

Role
My main role on this project was as game designer. I worked on coming up with the game’s core game loop and the different card mechanics and effects. I held weekly playtests at RIT’s Crash Test club to receive feedback and balance the various cards. In addition, I also worked as the project manager for the game, closely keeping track of the team’s progress during meetings and making sure that we were on track to meet production deadlines. I wrote internal documentation for the team as well as the final copy for the game’s rulebook. I also worked with an online game publisher, The Game Crafter, to produce professionally made physical copies of our game for sale which were presented at the RIT’s yearly Board Game Convention.
