Description
Bastille of Beasts is a singleplayer autobattler. The user creates a party of beasts that each have a variety of effects ranging from offensive attacks to abilities that are triggered upon being beaten. The user must carefully choose which order to place their beasts in in order to create a lineup with the best team synergy. Players then enter an arena where they face off against other teams of beasts.
Role
On this project I served as a game designer. I collaborated with another designer to come up with the different beast effects, taking into consideration how they could be used together with each other to form different strategies for the player to employ. I worked on balancing these effects after hosting playtests and edited previous designs when the team felt like strategies were becoming too dominant or overpowered. In addition, I also worked on the game as a developer. Using the Unity game engine, I focused on implementing a variety of the unique beast effects as well as how they communicated with the different beasts, both teammate and adversary. I also worked on the team selection phase of the game, allowing users to drag, drop, and reorder beasts to create their ideal team composition.
